Open Ghana Climate Action Campaign Official Campaign Message

Prepared Ahead of Campaign Launch – 15th December

Our Mission

The Open Ghana Climate Action Campaign is a community-driven response to the growing climate crisis affecting Northern Ghana. Through practical adaptation strategies and inclusive livelihood support, we are empowering vulnerable communities—especially women, youth, and persons with disabilities to withstand climate shocks and build sustainable futures.

Why This Campaign Matters

Communities in Northern Ghana are facing increasing climate challenges, including:
  • Unpredictable rainfall patterns
  • Prolonged droughts
  • Destructive floods
  • Rising pest outbreaks
These impacts have led to crop failures, food shortages, and loss of income. Women and children are the most affected, yet they are often the least supported. This campaign centers their voices, stories, and urgent need for action.

Save Amina: The Heart of Our Campaign

At the center of this campaign is Amina, a smallholder farmer whose crops were destroyed by climate-induced weather changes. Her story represents thousands of women struggling to feed their families and sustain their livelihoods. Saving Amina means saving communities. It means restoring dignity, food security, and hope.
Donate to save Amina—and women like her—from poverty, hunger, and malnutrition.

Our Goals

Through this campaign, we aim to:
  • Highlight urgent climate challenges affecting Northern Ghana
  • Establish dry season gardens as a key climate adaptation strategy
  • Create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women, youth, and persons with disabilities
  • Reduce hunger, food insecurity, and poverty in vulnerable communities
